About us

Ilaria
FOUNDER & SENIOR CONSULTANT
Ilaria started in the lab — a PhD in Molecular Medicine from the University of Turin, with over a decade of research across developmental neuroscience, immunology, and oncology. 30+ projects, 20+ publications, and a longtime AACR member since 2014.
But research was only half the picture. She worked with PreScouter on sustainability and innovation consulting, then went deeper into the business side with an MBA in entrepreneurship and finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Today she leads Anubis BC, helping EU- and US-based startups with international business development, strategy, and fundraising. She's also the co-founder of Europa Advisors, a firm focused on helping US life sciences companies expand into the EU market.
She's a certified PMP® and PMI member — because someone has to keep the timelines honest.

Neetha
SCIENTIFIC COMMUNICATIONS, PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Neetha has spent 15+ years in translational research, with deep expertise in cancer biology and immunology. She holds a PhD in Life Sciences from the National Institute of Immunology in New Delhi.
These days, she focuses on making complex science actually understandable — graphical abstracts, infographics, video summaries, plain language communications — as a Science Communicator at Impact Science (Cactus Communications). She's also taught at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine and mentored trainees from high school through medical graduate level.
If there's a gap between groundbreaking research and the people who need to understand it, Neetha's the one who closes it.

Suzanne
PHYSICIAN, UI/UX DEVELOPER, HEALTHCARE IT, SAAS
Suzanne is a physician with 25 years in healthcare and 18+ years in Healthcare IT. She's the person who can sit in a room with clinicians, IT teams, C-suite, and vendors — and actually translate between all of them.
She knows the pain points that slow down healthcare delivery, and more importantly, how to fix them. She's worked across EPIC, Allscripts (Veradigm), eClinicalWorks, NextGen, and a handful of less common platforms. Clinical depth plus IT fluency — that's a rare combination.

Karen
IMMUNOLOGY, VIROLOGY, FLOW CYTOMETRY
Karen brings deep expertise in immunology, oncology, and infectious diseases — with a particular strength in immunological assays (ELISA, ELISPOT, flow cytometry). She designs and analyzes multicolor panels for human and animal models and has a knack for developing new protocols that push research forward.
She's currently pursuing a Master's in Organization Development and Change — adding a strategic lens to an already strong scientific toolkit.

Carlos
CEO
Carlos comes from the world of scientific storytelling. With a degree in Communication Sciences and Journalism from the University of Turin and a Master's in Fundraising from the University of Bologna, he's spent 20+ years turning complex biomedical research into narratives that actually land — whether the audience is a funding body, a board room, or the public.
He's held key roles at the Candiolo Cancer Institute (IRCCS) and the University of Turin, managing relationships with the Italian Ministry of Health, AIRC, and the European Union. He's also consulted and trained with Centrale Etica (Ethics Center) on persuasive communication and fundraising strategy. Currently, he leads scientific communications and directorate support at Candiolo, overseeing digital engagement, media relations, and translational research impact.
Carlos is a registered Professional Journalist with the Italian National Register of Journalists. He's also a certified Sommelier (AIS) — so yes, he can pair your pitch with the right wine.
Fiona
MASCOT
Fiona is the company mascot — and the reason the Anubis BC logo looks the way it does. Yes, it's the shape of her head. She takes no questions at this time.
